24 February 2016The 28th yearly Fairworld sale once again achieved the highest average price of R11,980 per ram for the season.  The highest price of R50,000 was paid by Gert Terblanche from the Vergundplase, Riviersonderend.

27 February 2015The 27th yearly Fairworld sale made headlines once again, when GOOGLE, one of the most talked about sires in S.A. was sold for R200,000.00 to the Greyling family of Wakkerstroom. The sale average of R12,604.00 was also the highest price per ram for the season in S.A.

10November 2016: The Fairworld wool clip became the first in S.A. to obtain R100.00 per kg.or more for their “complete wool clip”, except for LOX.

26 February 2014The 26th yearly Fairworld sale once again produced the highest average price of R11,280 per ram for the season.  The highest price of R38,000 was paid by Leon Groenewalt from Riviersonderend.

28 February 2013: During Smaldeel veld ram sale, Fairworld once again fetched the highest average as well as highest price of R19,000 for a sire acquired by Antonie (Pyp) Lombard  of Adelaide.

27 February 2013: The 25th yearly Fairworld sale once again produced the highest average price of R10,280 per ram for the season.Three rams were sold at the highest price of R30,000 each to Stefaans de Klerk of Kommadagga, Bernhardt du Toit of Langrivier Boerdery, Koue Bokkevelder and  Johan Trichardt of Ardnamuchan Estates, Bedford.

01 March 2012: During Smaldeel veld ram sale, Fairworld fetched the highest average as well as highest price of R21,000 for a sire acquired by Bernhardt du Toit of Langrivier Boerdery, Koue Bokkeveld.

29 February 2012: The 24th yearly Fairworld sale once again produced the highest average price of R10,000 per ram for the season.The highest price of R46,000 was paid by Boet & Jaco van der Merwe from Vrede.

23 February 2011: During the 23rd yearly Fairworld sale, a finewool sire, called Barrier, measuring 14.3 micron was sold for a new S.A. record price of R250,000.00. This was the second time during its proud history that the Fairworld stud improved the S.A. record for a Merino Ram. During 1992 Fairworld sold a ram called Foreign Agent for the new record price of R56,000.00. The Van Aardt family of Fairworld would like to congratulate Kerneels & B.P. Greyling of Bovenvallei, Wakkerstroom with their proud investment.

22 October 2010: We were the proud runners up for the 2010 Count Zegna VA Challenge. The Fairworld entry measured 15.3µ.

04 September 2010: Fairworld made a clean sweep at the Somerset East Agricultural Show. Showing the Grand Champion, and winning all the fine wool categories.

22 October 2009: Fairworld were one of the three finalists of the NATIONAL SHEEP FARMER OF THE YEAR competition.

27 February 2009: Once again Fairworld fetched the highest price of R6,500.00 at the Smaldeel Fine Wool Ram Sale. Wentzel & Toy Lombard from Cradock were the buyers. We also achieved the highest average of R5,000.00

26 February 2009: Roekie le Roux from Carolina paid R26,000.00 for a superb fine wool ram at Fairworld’s 21st birthday sale. The sale was once again as successful as all the previous sales with one of the highest averages in the country.

29 October 2008: For the first time n many years we took part at the Somerset Show, with excellent results. Not only did we dominate the fine wool section, but we also showed the Grand Champion.

29 February 2008: Fairworld fetched the highest price of R13,500.00 at the Smaldeel Fine Wool Ram Sale. James Prinsloo from Volksrust was the buyer. We also achieved the highest average of R5,500.00

28 February 2008: Jeff Hobson, Pyp Lombard & Francois van Niekerk paid R56,000.00 for a proven Stud Sire. The price equals Fairworld’s own previous S.A. record.

27 February 2007: Once again we had a very successful ram sale. Two rams were sold for the amount of R30,000.00. The buyers were Leon Labuschagne from Welbekend and PT Merino’s from Kokstad.

15 March 2006: For the second year in succession Fairworld exhibited the Grand Champion Ram at the annual Bathurst Show.

29 FEBRUARY 2006: After an absence of 15 years we decided to sell rams at the yearly Smaldeel Fine Wool Sale. Although we had the disadvantage of selling last on the catalogue, we not only fetched the highest price of R8500.00 but we also ended up with the highest average.

22 FEBRUARY 2006: The 18th annual sale went very much the same as the previous years sale with no outrages prices but still maintaining a very good average. The top ram went to Jeff Hobson & Pyp Lombaard for R10,000.00.

18 MARCH 2005: Fairworld made a clean sweep at the annual Bathurst Show by exhibiting the Grand Champion Ram as well as the winners in the 8-tooth, 6-tooth, Group of 3 rams and also the floating trophy for the best wool on the show.

23 FEBRUARY 2005: The 17th annual sale were up from last year, but still very much in line with the current wool prices. The top ram was again snapped up by Koos Smit of Carolina for R8000.00.

16 NOVEMBER 2004: Bigball received Gold Merit status, making him Fairworld’s fifth gold merit sire in 3 years. His economic value places him with Picasso amongst the top five highest scoring golden rams off all time.

27 OCTOBER 2004: Fairworld fetched the 1st, 2nd 3rd highest price of the season so far. Our highest prices were BH 15.5µ – R45.00, AH 17.0µ – R41.40, BBH 16.4µ – R40.60. The clip average was 18.2µ

09 SEPTEMBER 2004: At the first multi vendor sale held at Middelburg, a Groenbek ram measuring 16.3µ was sold for R12000.00.

25 FEBRUARY 2004: Although prices were down and very much in line with the current wool prices, Fairworld still had a very successful sale with buyers from all over S.A. competing. The highest price of R8200.00 was paid by Koos Smit of Carolina.

05 FEBRUARY 2004: We were the proud runners up for the 2004 Count Zegna VA Challenge. The Fairworld entry scored 91.9% and measuring 15.4µ.

06 JANUARY 2004: Cape Wools announced that a fine wool fleece from Fairworld measuring 15.4µ was selected as one of the 3 finalists for the 2004 Count Zegna Award.

27 NOVEMBER 2003: BKB announced that a 12.9µ fleece from Fairworld was the finest micron wool ever to be tested at the OFDA 2000 test laboratory.

26 NOVEMBER 2003: Picasso, a FSS sire received Gold Merit Status with EV of R53.92, which places him amongst the highest valued Golden Rams of all time.

26 SEPTEMBER 2003: The Fairworld clip was sold at an average price of R34.98.

25 SEPTEMBER 2003: The average micron of the complete 2003 Fairworld wool clip tested 18.3µ.

24 APRIL 2003: Fairworld announced the founding of a daughter stud – GROENBEK OMEGA. This stud was primarily established to supply a plain bodied genetically fine animal in a one stop operation

15 APRIL 2003: Acton van Aardt joins Fairworld as a 5th generation member involved with fine wool breeding.

26 FEBRUARY 2003: The highest priced ram in South Africa for 2003 was sold by Fairworld for R54,000.00.

26 NOVEMBER 2002: Three Fairworld Sires received Golden Merit Awards,

Hamlet: a FSS sold on the farm to Jaco van der Merwe of Vrede for R25,000.00.

Bullet: Sold at the 2001 Fairworld sale to Andrew & Japie Jordaan of Cradock for R16,000.00

Chinamoon, a FSS sire, is still at stud.
